If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I'm even sure this review will most likely be removed because it will show the truth about this HORRIBLE facility. My grandma was in a bad stage of dementia, so my parents were able to get her in the memory care unit, in hopes it would be a wonderful place for her. In the beginning it seemed OK. Something always rubbed me the wrong way about the place from the very beginning, but that was just me; so I thought. Within the first month, my grandma went from walking with a cane, to needing a wheel chair. So the staff was very aware that she needed help getting up from the chair and walking to the bathroom and so forth. She fell a few times and was brought to the hospital to be checked, as they should. However, on May 1st 2015, my parents went to visit her for dinner. All of a sudden, my grandma put her head down, and clenched her hands close to her chest. My mom thought she was having a stroke. So they rushed her to Lake Norman hospital and from there to CMC Main. Come to find out, my grandma fell again and hit her head, instead of them calling my parents, they ignored it. Due to this fall, my grandma got a cerebral hemorrhage, which caused her to be in crucial pain for 14 days until she passed away in hospice care. I understand accidents happen, however, this, was far from an accident. This was NEGLECT and HARM to an elderly woman, who had no control over the situation. I pray people see this before they put someone they love into this joke of an assisted living facility. They killed my grandmother. They neglected her and refused to tell my parents something so crucial to her health, causing her death. It kills me to think they may get away with this, but if this review could save another life from being neglected then that's what matters!
Be careful the administration is willing to be dishonest and mean to the point of cruelty towards the family as well as show cruelty without even knowing the facts my first interaction with the administration well he outright lied to me I was shocked when I realized it was a lie this all this has been my experiences with the administration be careful they are mean to the point of being cruel
My Mom is a resident at Carillon in the memory care unit (aka The Garden Center). The staff is incredible as is the overall atmosphere of the facility. The staff truly care about your loved one and the entire family. Jaleil, the coordinator in the Garden Center, is beyond incredible. His kindness, compassion and skill are second to none. The entire staff at Carillon are fantastic. I feel very comfortable and confident leaving my Mom with the staff.
