I Took my 2014 Toyota Highlander in for standard synthetic oil change for $39.99, somehow it ended up at $53.15. I did not want any additional services performed, no tire rotation or fluids topped off, I was not informed by Kenny G, 'the manager' they would be doing any of these additional services, he told me after this incident, they don't have to inform me. My mistake for not over clarifying with him what was not to be done with my vehicle. Next thing I know, Kenny G. was telling me one of my lug nuts on the passenger rear tire was cross threaded/stripped and they couldn't get the lug nut back on more than half way and it must have been that way when I brought it in. Why were they rotating my tires anyway? I did not want that service.
I specifically requested, as my vehicle also specifies, full synthetic oil for my oil change. What I received instead was regular non-synthetic oil. I have had this done to me in the past from another dealer who admitted that they made the mistake; the reason why I knew and know I didn't have synthetic oil was that number one, my turbo engine builds up a tremendous amount of heat and goes through regular oil very quickly and produces a white smokey exhaust as a result of having no synthetic oil. If it wasn't for the fact that I was out of state at the time I would have gladly driven back up to North Carolina to give the manager a piece of my mind. I do not recommend this location nor will I ever visit any one of their locations anywhere in the United States. If I could rate this place 0 Stars I would. One is too generous.
All of these lug nuts were in perfect order when I brought the car in for the oil change, I know this for certain because Discount Tire, who originally installed the tires, had just rotated the tires one week ago and I checked their work before leaving their store, they do great work and are very thorough. I am very particular about the care and maintenance of my vehicle and would not have left this to chance. Kenny G said they did not actually rotate the tires but I know this to be inaccurate and an attempt to cover their tracks. The from passenger wheel lugs were partially installed and the tire was tilting indicating the tire was not fully re-installed yet, this is the first step to reinstall a tire once it has been removed or rotated..The next and final step would have been to tighten the lugs completely with the air wrench. If the tires had not been rotated the lugs would have been either completely off and on the ground or completely tight. After quizzing Kenny G about their tire removal process in a rotation he agreed they would remove the lugs completely not partially. After several spirited discussions Kenny G offered to split the cost of the $60 repair which I declined as this is entirely their fault, not partially.
What I believe happened is the technician just got sloppy and did not hand tighten the lug before installing it with the air wrench which got the thread started incorrectly, he then tried to force it on with more power and was unsuccessful.
Bottom line, always cover your butt and take pictures of every area of your car they will be working on so you can prove your case. Also, be very clear about what you do and don't want them doing to your vehicle. Edit and cross out any area of the paperwork that indicates service you don't want performed before signing it.
Took my Nissan in for a four wheel alignment today. Excellent service and great price! Car drives straight as an arrow now! Employees also found loose tie rod ends and fixed, had it to three other shops looking for the rattle over bumps and every shop said nothing wrong with car. These guys picked up on it immediately and now NO MORE rattle so far! Will be my go to shop from now on! Thanks to all the mechanics and KennyG for the kindness and help! You guys rock!
Do to take your vehicle here, they damaged my car and then claimed they did not do it. Zero stars is my rating, not one.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Took my truck in for an alignment, The tech overfilled the tires and blew it up! Then because of their incompetence they tried to blame me and would not replace the tire they destroyed! I will NEVER EVER go to this shop and make sure that anyone who asks knows DO NOT GO HERE! I also contacted corporate and they defended the shop. The man behind the counter actually yelled at me after he destroyed my tire. I had a spare but it did not match the other tires so I had to buy 4 new tires at another shop to have the alignment completed. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF TAKING YOUR VEHICLE TO PRECISION !
As usual the entire crew at Precision Tune in Mooresville, NC were great! Amanda, Patrick, Shane and all you guys in the shop rock! Shane is an extremely knowledgeable expert and the whole crew in the shop are knowledgeable as well and they are always friendly and helpful. I will keep bringing my vehicles there for service and would recommend them to anyone. Keep up the great work guys!
